is a husky well-dressed white woman. She likes to wear a fancy scarf around her neck. Her lips was thick ad painted red. Her forehead was high, and her face was flushed red and curdled in anger like old cheese. She was so ugly, she looked like a death threat.

Reading Log Question#1

1. The meaning of the good lord bird is a bird that brings knowledge and understanding to whoever possess it's feather. In the text it said "They say a feather from a Good Lord Bird'll bring you understanding that'll last your whole life (McBride 33). In a way it connects to  the title of the book because the good lord bird could be symbolic of John Brown. Brown task is to go around and spread the lord's message and give other's knowledge. In comparison the the good lord bird spread knowledge to whoever has it's feather.
2. Henry's nickname is Little Onion. He earned that nickname when ate an old onion that was in John Brown's pocket.
3. Henry's rationale for continuing to live a lie is that when he have a chance to escape and run away he will take that chance but if he doesn't he's afraid that John Brown might kill him because he feels like he is "his prisoner"(McBride 24). This was justifiable giving the stories that was told of John Brown. Also Henry understood that white people lie to each other and he doesn't know if or when John Brown is lying to him.

Lying is Part of Life

          Some people believe it’s never okay to lie but they do it themselves. In the world that we live in people lie every day, lying is a part of who we are. I believe it is permissible to lie but only when it is necessary. It is only necessary to lie to somebody when you know the truth can hurt them. I’m not saying lying is okay and it should be done every day but at times we come to a point where we have to lie to protect the ones we care about. For example, a mother lying to her child about Santa Clause or “there’s a monster in the closet that only comes out when they misbehave”. Although those are small lies, at the end of the day we have to tell these lies to protect the ones we love. Lying is also okay when somebody is trying to keep a secret that’s not theirs from another person. Sometimes we are put in situation where we have to protect an individual’s secret by lying to others to protect the individual.

           Lying is not okay when there isn’t a motive another than self-interest. Most times people lie just because they don’t want to tell the truth or are afraid of what others would think of them when the truth comes out. In an ideal world everybody would tell the truth without having to lie but this is not an ideal world, this is reality. Can you picture a world without lies and dishonesty? I can honestly say I can’t because lying is a part of life, and because it is a part of life, as long as the human species continue to evolve so will lying.

Getting to Know Fedson Joseph

Growing up I have always been the tallest guy in my grade, because of that I was always told I should play basketball. That lead me to trying out for the basketball team in middle school and I made the team simply because of my height. At first I didn't enjoy playing but as I got better I started enjoying playing. By the time I got to High School I learned to love the game. I can honestly say there has not been something I've been more passionate about than basketball. In my free time I would sit and wonder what future will be in basketball or how good I could become. One of the of the most ridiculous lies I have ever told to my my mother is that I had a tournament on the week. I need a reason to be out with my friends for the weekend and I know the only way she would let me out of the house for the whole week is if I had a basketball tournament. That lie work and I had a great time with my friends.

When I write essays or anything that has to do with writing I prefer just sitting down in front of the computer and let words flow. With that I can just have words down and worry about correctness and format afterwards. My writing experience has been a long and difficult journey and that journey is far from over. After completing this course I want to learn how to better edit my paper. The name of the most recent book I've read is Of Mice and Men and I really enjoyed read that book. I rare write on any social media site. I prefer to keep my comments and business to myself. The most important for me to learn this semester is what I  don't want to d with my life. That will get me closer to figuring out what I do wanna do with my life. 

A hero is anybody someone can look up to for guidance. The last time I failed at something was last semester. I planned to get straight A's but that didn't happen. What I learn from that experience is that college is not as easy as I thought. Overall as a writer I feel like I am at an B. I feel like I can get my thoughts on paper well enough to have the professor understand what I mean.
